This was a major renovation and modernization to the existing five storey, 41 year-old academic building on the York University campus.  Completed in August 2012, the remodel of this 18,208 square-metre building began with gutting the interior architectural components and removing the mechanical and electrical systems.  One elevator was replaced as well as all HVAC systems, lighting, fire alarms and sprinklers.  Original washrooms were eliminated and revamped with new facilities.  Interior finishes were redone throughout the building.  A new single storey podium rooftop was constructed, creating space for staff offices, a cafeteria, study lounges, student services and a multi-purpose assembly hall.
