Located on a 155 acre wooded campus on the east shore of Lake Katchewanooka north of Peterborough Ontario, Lakewood College School is committed to sustainable development and construction.  Cooper House, completed in 2009, was the second LEED certified project built on the school campus.  This 1,110 square metre student residence is a two storey wood frame able to house up to 26 students.  This development achieved LEED Canada-NC Gold based on various sustainable aspects.  This includes a geothermal system method used for heating and cooling.  Additionally, all building materials are low emitting products.  While working with a different firm, a TAES Architect principal helped to manage and oversee the project was complying with LEED standards.
